This is a question Siblings

Brothers and sisters - can't live with 'em, can't stove 'em to death with the coal scuttle and bury 'em behind the local industrial estate. Tell us about yours.

Thanks to suboftheday for the suggestion -we're keeping the question open for another week for the New Year

Bastard siblings
I have the worst siblings in the world. This is what I got for Christmas from them. In the interests of fairness, they both work (Sibling A part time) and earn decent money.

Sibling A

- A small tube of jelly beans
- A Cadburies cream egg (!)
- A DVD of ‘The Candyman’ (which I know for a fact is £2.99 in Morrisons). I also already possess this DVD.

Sibling B

- A small tube of jelly beans
- A Mars bar (regular size)
- The book ‘Wheel of Time: Eye of the World’. I fucking introduced the books to her years ago! And it was from a fucking charity shop because it still had the Safeway’s sticker on it!

I got them fucking Louis Vuitton bags! Next year I will get them boxes of teabags. Only 48 though.

I completely have sympathy with you....
I have 3 siblings and the total of my Christmassy goodness from them this year was...

Yep - F*ck all!! Thanks guys!!

I dream of a the chocolatey splendidness :-)

I could
Be your sister. I don't really want a Louis Vuitton bag, but I could sell it on eBay. That is the true meaning of sisterly love, which you are obviously missing out on.

I'm sure you could make the switch and no one would notice. I could wear a paper mask and everything.

erm
How do you know about the paper bags?
(, Sun 28 Dec 2008, 23:12, closed)
What?
You mean every family doesn't do that?!
(, Sun 28 Dec 2008, 23:17, closed)
oh
I wear a paper bag because my family force me to. I am not sure that rule applies to other familes though?
(, Sun 28 Dec 2008, 23:20, closed)
of course
it was only when I was nine I figured out how to cut holes in it for my eyes and mouth, though :(

'EYEHOLES ARE FOR CHEATERS!'
As my pleasant father used to say.
(, Sun 28 Dec 2008, 23:23, closed)
it's not
when you try and cut the eyeholes whilst still wearing the bag.
To keep from blinding yourself is a challenge worthy of the Krypton Factor.
(, Sun 28 Dec 2008, 23:27, closed)
Oh tell me about it
I gave myself a Chelsea smile trying to cut a hole to breath once. I laugh about it now. Then I invariably wince though.
(, Sun 28 Dec 2008, 23:34, closed)
I once
wanted to breathe and so decided that if I used a substitute bag over my head whilst cutting the whole in the paper one, no one would notice.

...pity it was a plastic one. Still, it's one for the family photo album!
(, Sun 28 Dec 2008, 23:37, closed)
I too
have an embarassing snap in the family photo album where I have my crimson oxygen deprived head in my hands...

Pity I was auto-asphyxiating myself for kicks at the time when my mum burst in brandishing a camera though.

Dad also used to say...
That 'paper mouth holes are gloryholes' but I never really knew what he meant and he only told my sisters.

*bemused*

?
you got them louis vuitton bags?! that must have run you up thousands and thousands of pounds?!

you must really like your sisters, or are paying off a debt.
(, Sun 28 Dec 2008, 23:03, closed)
To be honest
I don't really see my family much as I travel for business a lot so I kind of feel guilty. I obviously missed the 'only £5 Christmas present' discussion in my house though.
(, Sun 28 Dec 2008, 23:15, closed)
aha
The LV bags I got were not the full size ones but slightly smaller so they were only $1200 each as I got them in duty free. The dollar rate was shit at the time and they were like taking 40% from everything. Something in the back of my mind told me that girls like this sort of thing so I bought them to be a super brother or something.

Still.

Mars bar?

To be fair
The best gift was introducing them to The Wheel of Time. Nice work!
