Spoilt Brats
Mr Newton sighs, "ever known anyone so spoilt you would love to strangle? I lived with a Paris Hilton-a-like who complained about everything, stomped her feet and whinged till she got her way. There was a happy ending though: she had to drop out of uni due to becoming pregnant after a one night stand..."
Who's the spoiltest person you've met? Has karma come to bite them yet? Or did you in fact end up strangling them? Uncle B3ta (and the serious crimes squad) wants to know.

Indigo Child
Someone else (Browser) mentioned Indigo Children so I went and looked into it.
www.indigochild.com/
Here's how you know if you have one or not:
# They come into the world with a feeling of royalty (and often act like it)
# They have a feeling of "deserving to be here," and are surprised when others don't share that.
# Self-worth is not a big issue. They often tell the parents "who they are."
# They have difficulty with absolute authority (authority without explanation or choice).
# They simply will not do certain things; for example, waiting in line is difficult for them.
# They get frustrated with systems that are ritually oriented and don't require creative thought.
# They often see better ways of doing things, both at home and in school, which makes them seem like "system busters" (nonconforming to any system).
# They seem antisocial unless they are with their own kind. If there are no others of like consciousness around them, they often turn inward, feeling like no other human understands them. School is often extremely difficult for them socially.
# They will not respond to "guilt" discipline ("Wait till your father gets home and finds out what you did").
# They are not shy in letting you know what they need.
So there's no such thing as a "spoilt child". They've just been misdiagnosed and are actually Indigo Children.
New Age people should be forbidden to breed.
Cheers
Edit: On re-reading that they sound more like Children Of The Damned.....

What's worse is
"Indigo Children" are often the product of "crystal mothers" (as opposed, I presume, to mothers on crystal meth.)
A great example of a crystal mother, with an indigo child is that half wit ex-playboy bunny and current fuck-sock of Jim Carey, Jenny McCarthy. She's the one responsible for the "Green our vaccines" campaign, which is still trotting out the tired old canard about vaccines being the cause of autism.
She and her ilk, Indigos and all make me sad and tired.
*lies down*

Here in Oz..
The "Greek Australian of the Century" was this guy:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archie_Kalokerinos
A card carrying member of the paranoid-nut brigade.
Among his many claims are that vaccinations are a UN based plot to thin out the planet and that vitamin C can cure anything.
He actually does have a medical degree.
My missus is also Greek and also has a medical degree (as well as a surgical degree and now almost 4 years as a registrar, taking her consultants exam next year) and she hates this guy and his ilk...
Cheers

I've met and worked with people who have developed autism after a vaccine
It may not be the cause but it is without a doubt at least a catalyst

And I'm sure you haven't been meeting the people who have developed autism before taking the vaccine, or who never took it.
I'd bet you've also met people who have developed autism after eating a apples as children, or after watching Teletubbies.
Unless you have some evidence further to what you've told us, I'm going to have to conclude that apples and Teletubbies and vaccines are equally likely to cause autism. Correlation alone does not suggest causation.

That sound like me!
The nearest my parents got to New Age was a photo of my Dad I found when he's wearing flared trousers.
He always voted Tory, and has had the same hairstyle since he could first afford his own Brylcreem when he was 16 (rather than getting a clout for nicking my Grandad's).
Also, my mother is as cynical as you can get.

Sound like a recipe for a little shitebag if ever there was one.
I bet there's a queue at the school gate to kick the watery shit out of him as well.

As much as giving the little shits a shoeing sounds fun
It's not the kids themselves who deserve it.
For every delinquent snot factory there is at least one dysfunctional parent. A bratty kid can be fixed with the right blend of discipline, diplomacy and positive reinforcement. Even Supernanny can do this.
However, it will be worth a sugery fuck if you give the child back to its' dysfunctional parents. It's the parents that need fixing. Give 'em a kick in the cock.

The Oompa-Loompas knew it...
"Who was it spoiled her? Who indeed?
Who pandered to her every need?
Who turned her into such a brat?
Who are the culprits? Who did that?
The guilty ones, now this is sad.
Are dear old Mum, and loving Dad."

I have the cure for Indigo Children
Make them play rugby at the local RFU Club.
Any Indigo child will end up a Black and Blue child after a very short while.

You could have all of those traits
and not be complete tit.
A feeling of being important or "to be important in the future" can help you get through hard times- you're just waiting to prove just how good you are. With some people they'll actually try to prove it actively- going out and trying to solve problems for people to get recognition.
Having a problem with non-explained Authority isn't a problem either- no-one should have power over you unless they have a good reason why (i.e. police, teachers, etc).
Getting frustrated with ritual systems isn't that bad. You've never been pissed off in church or school and asked why something's done a certain way just to be told "well, that's just how we do it."
So they can either be just about perfect once you get to know them or little shits. Hell, even I fit a lot of those categories.
However, giving them a name like Indigo Children is really quite dangerous. You'll end up with a Master Race type coming along and killing anyone who doesn't fit the profile.

Indigo.
I agree largely with the above; it's not a list of 'bad' traits - it's more like a list of traits that any reasonable, thinking being might have, so I wasn't immediately going to discard the concept of 'evolutionary advancement', after all I think that each generation is successively a *slight* improvement on the previous one, both educationally and, possibly, physically...
but then, I wondered to myself why the name 'Indigo' had been applied and I discovered that it came about because...
"They are named Indigo Children as that is the colour of their Auras"
Between sobs of alternating amusement and disbelief I read on a short way and it was a mere paragraph or two more before I was reading about "decks of 57 psychic crystal cards designed for Indigo teens, to channel their latent spiritual abilities, placing them in closer contact with the god(dess)."
Consigned to bin. Forever.

Bloody hell...
I never heard of such a label, but reading the description sounds exactly like me. Every point hits home precisely - except one (doing things like waiting in a queue is necessary and I have no problem with it). I'm going to have to do some more research into this. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, Legless.

Hmm
Although from reading the Wikipedia article about mysic powers and an indigo aura, I feel less like one. I don't go in for all that. It's just that the description that Legless pasted was hauntingly familiar.
My aura is white :P
