This is a question Stupid Dares

I once dared my mate to eat one of those blue cakes out of a urinal. He won his 50p, and got his stomach pumped into the bargain.

Stupid dares, eh?

Tippex
A friend of mine from back in high school would do anything for a dare! You know the sort... suck on a highlighter, eat a fag, drink some piss and all the other high school frolics...

Anyway, one day - we decided to dare him to drink a bottle of tippex (We'd got bored of attempting to get high by sniffing it NB: this doesn't work and neither does lighter fluid from a lighter)

We didn't even have to give him any money to do any of the things he did - just the words "I dare you to..." would do.

Anyway, rambling over - he drank the while bottle of tippex, turned pretty white and almost immediately we figured it would be a good idea to call an ambulance - he had to have his stomach pumped and he'd caused irrepairable damage to his kidneys.

Still... he never stopped taking on dares. Mighty stupid methinks but he's a living legend.

Still learning..long time lurker... first post!

Nice...
....pun.

"he drank the while bottle of tippex, turned pretty white and almost immediately "

I can only assume that this fellow has gone on to smaller and dimmer things as his life has moved on.

Fair play though, every school needs a chap like that....

...there is a tree with a plaque to remember the lad from my school. Poor bugger.

Tippex
You're not supposed to sniff the Tippex - it's the Tippex *Thinner* that does the business.
Honestly, kids today etc.

trichloroethane ban
It depends when this happened.
Fifteen years ago tippex thinner was
1,1,1 trichloroethane, I believe this handy checmical is now banned because it theoretically affects the ozone layer, as if the ammount in tippex was significant.
An aquantance of mine convinced a girl to take her clothes off in their sixth form common room after sniffing tippex.
I don't know what thinner is in tippex these days but it is probably less exciting.

Clarification of date
This was 13 years ago - and we were 11/12 if that helps in your research?

Here's the science bit....
Tippex thinner is now an aliphatic hydrocarbon. I think it's methylhexane, but I don't know where I dug that up from.

Nothing like as toxic to the human system as 1,1,1 TCE.
