This is a question Tightwads

There's saving money, and there's being tight: saving money at the expense of other people, or simply for the miserly hell of it.

Tell us about measures that go beyond simple belt tightening into the realms of Mr Scrooge.

there's something called culture available in other countries though
I'm not surprised that you might not have heard of it. don't think it's got there yet.

I get a bit tired of the generalized anti-american statements
And yes I have been outside the country enjoying other cultures, but thank you for pointing out that we aren't the only ones that have culture.

You intentionally stepped into the role of devil's advocate, and now you're complaining about getting stick about it?

If you HAVE been out of the country, why are you complaining? He wasn't insulting you, was he?

Your country has ancient ruins from civilisations many thousands of years old, does it? Your country has the Giza Pyramids? Medieval castles? The battlefields of the Somme? The Cambodian killing fields? The African savannah? Uluru? The Taj Mahal? Big Ben? Machu Picchu? The Eiffel Tower? The running of the bulls? The Vrodandos fireworks? Holi? The Cherry Blossom Festival? The Hiroshima Peace Memorial? The terracotta army? The Mona Lisa? The Anne Frank house?

Yeah, you're right, everything any intelligent and cultured individual could ever want to see is right there in your own country. You monumental, catastrophic, utterly pathetic TOOL.
