This is a question Tightwads

There's saving money, and there's being tight: saving money at the expense of other people, or simply for the miserly hell of it.

Tell us about measures that go beyond simple belt tightening into the realms of Mr Scrooge.

I've had similar experiences with bus drivers

For example - One time I wanted a £0.90 fare/journey and offered paymnet via a £5 note. The bus-driver said that he didn't have any change and that I'd have to get off and wait for the next bus.
Please bear in mind that buses are no longer `exact fare only' and also that I had to be at work in 15 minutes!!!
Bus driver wasn't budging so we had cross words for a while before I got off. I was tempted just to sit down but he was such a twat I had a feeling that he wouldn't stop to let me off when I got to my designated stop.
This has happened on a handful of times and is totally unneccessary. To me the bus-driver is not doing his job properbly by having inadequate change and he is not accepting perfectly legal tender from a PAYING customer.
TWUNTS!!!

Glad I've got my car now :O)

I had to use a £10 note to get a £3 ticket. I was very apologetic handing it over, but he still proceeded to roll his eyes and huff and puff and curse and swear under his breath as he fumbled around for the change.

When I sat down I realised he'd given me two £5 notes instead of one. HA HA. If he hadn't been such a rude grumpy old shite I might have given one back. Why do they do the job if they hate people so much? Go and drive a fucking lorry or something instead.

note: they're not ALL cunts, it brightens up my day when I get a nice cheery one.
