It's notactually much of a story as such, but the worst family holiday we ever had was at an apartment complex near Setubal in Portugal. Short version: I was bored *shiteless* for two weeks. So you can imagine my joy in later life when I discovered that the complex in question was so brutal and grim that it was actually used , largely unaltered, as the set for a Portuguese movie version of JG Ballard's post-apocalyptic short story Low Flying Aircraft.
