My advice would benot to pay the debts off with the money. Wait until you are earning again.
Is the redeployment an option within your company - if so, how secure would it be and how do you know the role isn't for you ?
Difficult to advise about the learning a trade issue. Depends what it is, but the problem is that when demand is low, the supply will always be people with experience, which you won't have, being a newbie.

Credit Card ProtectionFind out if your credit card company can offer you card insurance against redundancy, so if/whenyou are made redundant the cdredit cardf company will be paying off a portion of your card. Doesn't hurt to investigate.
