This is a question Waste of money

I once paid a small fortune to a solicitor in a legal case. She got lost on the way to court, turned up late with the wrong papers and started an argument with the judge, who told her to "shut up, for the love of God". A stunning investment.

Thanks to golddust for the suggestion

hahahahahahaha
Yes, I used to spend way too much money in there on Warhammer 40K when I was at school.

I called into one the other day in Edinburgh for nostalgia purposes and I couldn't get over the prices....£17 for ONE metal special character miniature! When I was buying them it was £5 and even then that was steep.

I wish Pokemon had put them out of business.

SEVENTEEN QUID!!?!!
Last time I looked it was nine, and that was gigantic enough of a markup to put me off even thinking about going back. Are you sure you weren't looking at the tanks?

That's what I said.
Then I had a MASSIVE relapse with about eight friends.

Fucksticks.

Still, the new plastic kits are incredibly detailed...

Now D&D 4th edition on the other hand, that I can get behind.

I replased too
I thought, "I never really got to play this as a kid, but I can afford to now! And I have several friends who are playing!"

It turns out that while the WH40K Universe is awesome, fucking around with the figures and tape measures and line-of-sight just annoys me. It would be much better implemented as a computer game (TURN-BASED, bitches, not the RTS ones they've put out).

No, I had to ask the assistant if the price was correct I was that stunned
and as always he was a fucking pompous arrogant, goatee'd twat who probably has posters of Chyna from WWE wrestling on his wall.

He tried to point out that it was reasonable for such an 'engaging hobby'. I pointed out it was for children and not as engaging as conversation with real people and subjects.

It was I believe some leader of an army, you know the actual commanders, huge miniature and lots of details but he was in a blister pack at £17

you could just buy a load of chess sets
and play with those. You could claim they are warriors from the parallel dimension of Chessaxia or something.

^^this
Put that into a book, market it right and you could have the Games Workshop MkII

I did once wonder
if traditional playing cards originally came in random packets of five, and you had to trade them with your friends to get a full deck.
