This is a question Workplace Boredom

There's got to be more to your working day than loafing around the internet, says tfi049113. How do you fill those long, empty desperate hours?

My boss has no sense of humour
I got an official verbal warning for 'unprofessional behviour and putting lives at risk' ...for switching the 'N' and 'M' keys around on his keyboard so he couldn't log into his PC in the morning :P causing IT support to laugh at him.

We had a better one
We used to switch the keys around (like the @, the % and the ~) then phone the help desk .. who woud send a bozo armed with a memory stick and the "5 standard keymaps" that solved any keyboard issues for the standard company keyboards .. oh yes, standardisation is a wonderful thing.

Poor little sods would end up pulling their hair out.

Shirley...
Moving the % key would be quite hard to get away with on a PC keyboard?

Missing E
i was in the Apple reseller in Oxford the other day, this woman came in and said that her E key on her MacBook was loose, she said she'd used the laptop a lot and had written a book on it.

I mentioned that even before computers came along, some French bloke had managed to write a book without using the letter E...

of course
another favourite is to go to the word "replace text with" function so letters appear normal on the keyboard but totally fuck up when typing (in word anyway, it's limited fun i guess) ... and phrases are good too. replacing the "i" key is mandatory ;)

We once took out all the keys from a colleagues keyboard and arranged them in front of the now empty keyboard in order and spaced exactly like they should be. The look on the poor lads face was priceless.
