Single joke tribute bands
Yeah, some of them are quite good. But it's depressing that you head out into town and every band you see is doing somebody else's material.

Still, larf at a couple of local tribute acts, who at least put some imagination into their names:

I see your point
but I'd rather hear a band doing someone else's material well than hear a band playing their own songs that have been contrived and twisted to have exactly a certain sound or the sound of an existing popular band, so as to be automatically relevant to anyone who hasn't noticed yet

I do the sound for an exclusively cover band and tribute band venue!
my brains are slowly turning into mush after over a year working there with bands such as:

Conjovi, Hot Fuzz (killers), Noasis, Blurb, Kaiser Theifs, The Secret Police, Maybe Winehouse...

ABBA revival are a wierd one - it's like an ABBA concert with van halen on guitar doing facemelting solo's throughout the middle of every song.
