The British Government freak over £6.50!
Seriously, the jobcentre I went to asked me when I started work, and I said x date. Got it wrong by a DAY and they started going on at me, saying how it's fraudulent and a lot of other bullshit. I had to sit and take it all, because apparently, it being in the middle of a science experiment is not an excuse for not dropping everything to get a date right.

What I'm trying to say is how much have the government screwed you up lately?
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:24, archived)
That £6.50
would be part of the £10,000 or so I pay in tax each year.

It's mine, give it back you scrounging cunt.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:25, archived)
You'll have to fuck me for it.

(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:32, archived)
She's welcome to mine
I was only going to waste it on drugs and music.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:33, archived)
Actually
if you add in the amount you shell out in VAT and alcohol duty, it's a staggering amount of tax.

I probably feed Abu Hamza for about three months.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:36, archived)
I comfort myself with the fact that the only reason I pay a staggering amount of tax
is because I earn a staggering amount of money and drink a staggering amount of booze.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:39, archived)
It is a good point
I dont even worry that much about tax any more since the only things I cant afford are wasteful peices of shit that I would be bored of within a month.

*wipes arse with £50 note*
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:43, archived)
It probably cost more than £6.50 to give her the bullshitting.

(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:34, archived)
And how long was he?

(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:25, archived)
I pay taxes.
The end.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:25, archived)
I do!
It's just I was on JSA for about 2 months. Not exactly a lifetime of drugs taking is it?
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:26, archived)
This is the face of a man not caring.
*presents face*
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:28, archived)
JSA
I am guessing thats the dole on not the Korean Border.

Job Seekers Allowance.
They also equip you with a net and a spear, for job hunting.

Loincloth optional.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:31, archived)
surely in this day and age
they'd equip you with something a little more hi-tech than a loincloth
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:33, archived)
Spandex boob-tubes for the ladies.

(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:35, archived)
it's a polyster/teflon/acrylic blend once
so it's drip-dry and non-iron.
How much more modern can it get?
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:36, archived)
Nah, it's *Jobe* Seekers' Allowance.
You get issued with a realistic otter costume.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:35, archived)
I would do that for free
just to see the look on his face. It would be like trigger happy TV.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:39, archived)
We should all dress up like that for the Christmas bash, without telling him first.
And then act completely normally when he enters the pub. That'd be great.

I hope he isn't lurking now.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:43, archived)
You'd all walk into a pub
dressed as otters ?

You'd be beaten to death with spades.

They haven't yet
unless they withdraw the "study grants for pikeys" scheme within the next year.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:26, archived)
They're shit
Took my (pikey) mate a month for that to go through! And it only covered 1/3 of his tuition fees
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:27, archived)
LETS GET THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR EVERYTHING FOR US!!!!!one

(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:28, archived)
Yes let's have free education.

(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:29, archived)
What?
And allow people from a low-income background to get decent jobs?! Preposterous!
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:30, archived)
This whole country was founded on poor people never rising above their station
let's keep it that way.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:31, archived)
Yes.
Well ... apart from our commerce and banking being almost entirely built by penniless immigrants and the cannon fodder in every major battle being made up of dull-witted povs. Yes.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:36, archived)
It takes a damn sight more
than just free education in any case.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:36, archived)
Indeed.
Keep them in their place. We wouldn't want anyone from a poor background not staying poor for the rest of their lives.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:32, archived)
I'm not the person to accuse of that
But his mother is incapable of working, as is he :p
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:29, archived)
what science experiment?
are you an experiment?
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:27, archived)
Nailing a monkey to a wall by its ears
and forcing it to smoke fags and drink shampoo.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:28, archived)
sounds more like a stag party
than a science experiment
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:29, archived)

(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:30, archived)
Just chromotography
But it was the college rules more than anything. Can't ditch an experiment for them.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:29, archived)
Most of that made some sort of sense
until you got to the 'science experiment' bit.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:27, archived)
Ah
When they rang to ask me when I started work, I was doing an experiment, so I was using borrowed time. I think one day off was pretty good thinking seeing as I was timing and stuff.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:28, archived)
Start again at the beginning, then add a dash of SENSE.

(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:30, archived)
Righto then.
It's a rule of being employed by the tax or benefits departments that you must regard all other human beings as thieving scum and assume that any minor mistake is an attempted crime. It's the same rule for people who work for the privatised rail companies.

I am sure I should just go onto that pre paid thing.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:28, archived)
This.

*sings the 'I get free prescriptions' song*

(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:32, archived)
Why do you get free prescriptions?
Are you live in Wales?
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:34, archived)
I have type 1 diabetes.
It's not much of a consolation but hey ... look at all these free needles!
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:53, archived)
Yes
I find it appaling that people who don't want babies can get abortions for free, any time they like, but people with skin complaints can't get the creams for free.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:32, archived)
Well they either have to pay for an abortion
or pay for a flat and child benefits. I guess they see it as cost effective in the long run.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:38, archived)
i've not been screwed in ages
but there are trees abd shit in my road the local council insist taking my money to help them look after the "wonderful gardens" i never see anybody there doing anything
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:28, archived)
What science experiement were you doing in the job centre?

(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:29, archived)
Pfft, I wish some sort of vivisection work
www.b3ta.com/talk/2030184
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:30, archived)
aaaha, ok
"the jobcentre I went to" led me to think you'd actually gone there.
I'd be tempted to pop in and explain it in person, maybe in writing, and ask them to make the adjustments accordingly.
That way you can get out to work and not bother them again
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:34, archived)
Ah, I mean "went to" as in "I no longer claim benefits"
I've done that now, after having to take a day off college to prove I'm not trying to steal £6.50 for smack from my pimp.
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:38, archived)
i'm not big or clever
not
(, Thu 12 Oct 2006, 12:44, archived)
I could think of a few good psychology ones to try out.
