Actually since from the comments Lego is on the list...... and since I was still playing with Lego when I came home from university at Christmas times, I think it has to get my vote.

I think if you ask a load of techy types for favourite toysYou'll always get LEGO, even edging ahead of the ZX Spectrum.
Because they're all just itching for the slightest excuse to go and buy some. As if an X-Wing Fighter or a minifigure Baywatch lifeguard isn't reason enough...
