no it was the toasterit had fooled the chip pan into a false sense of kinship and encouraged it to start a small fire on the hob. next thing the whole place was ablaze...wrong

Reminds me of a conversation with a fire safety guyWent something along the lines of:
Guy: Are you prepared to handle a chip pan fire in your kitchen?
Me: Nope
Guy: Why not?
Me: It's not a problem
Guy: That's a rather dangerous attitude. Chip pan fires get out of control very quickly you know.
Me: Yes, but it's not really a problem
Guy: Why not?
Me: Don't have a chip pan - I just go to the chippy
