I'm feeling a lot of love for Porco Rosso.
The Cat Returns has the best soundtrack song, whilst Kiki's Delivery Service has an opening sequence to die for (once the cat turns the radio on) and a great end-credits epilogue montage.
But I'd say Castle in the Sky does it best overall, with the crazy architecture, technology and instantly fabricated mythology. Totoro is still the best for kids though. Shame it's all gone to pants lately.

sequel on the way! I did enjoy Ponyo, but not so much as the early stuff.

The sea-goddess I could cope with, but the mad morose magical submariner somehow spawning in an underwater goldfish bowl was just too outré even for a Ghibli film.
And that whole 'tasted human blood' thing really didn't translate well.
And Earthsea was just completely unengaging. By which I mean a bit shit.
