i much prefer acrylics. holbein's work on hair is fantastic, the detail is amazing

# I know - he really does look incredibly detailed
but even the hair looks unexpectedly like unlikely clumps of paint up close. Amazing technique and artistic sense he must have had to know how it would look when your face isn't up close.
