# Hmm... I might consider it.
I did see one of those helmets today, the ones with two can holders and straws. I could take those off and alter it slightly, and we've got a good starting point.

# if you can knock something together cheaply that'll do the job
there's no point spending a fortune on other stuff. even if it doesn't work out, you're only down a couple of quid

# True true, and it's only for one night (or two if I go to the other party a few days later)
If I can get the panels of the helmet cut out from linoleum or some kind of plastic, I should have it done on time. :)

# lino is tricky stuff
it'll bend and flop on you and you can't harden it without making it brittle

# I suppose I could double it up, or make it thicker with some board.
I've got a sheet here right now, it's about 3-4mm thick. There are parts on the helmet where I'll need to bend it slightly, so I might have to mix things up a bit.

# you can always give it a try
i know someone who wrapped a piece of it around his shoulders and pretended to be batman. daft fucker :)

# Haha :D should have used a bin bag!
It's like you say though; as long as I'm not paying shitloads (and I'm not), there's no harm done. If the project fails I've got other costumes I could wear.

# PET bottle plastic can be shaped with a cool iron.

# Thanks for the tip! I might do that for the visor :D
