Now, I'm not saying that War of the Worlds is the worst film ever made...That's the Talented Mr Ripley.
But War of the Worlds was one of the most unnecessary. It's as if it only got made because Tom Cruise wanted to run around and play Martians.
If they'd have been serious about it, they'd have hired 10 simultaneous minutes on Reuters, CNN and the BBC then shown Orson Welles how it's done.
