It's difficult to know what to say...This sort of stuff happens probably on a daily basis, but it's only when you hear someone explain it, that it becomes more real (if that makes sense). I think others have said this, but I would definitely go to a paper or MP with this. The system is clearly broken and needs fixing.
People who clearly don't need help seem to get it by the bucket load with handouts etc. And then when people genuinely need help and understanding they receive a slap to the face. Stay positive and stay strong. But do speak out about this. I feel odd 'click'-ing this, but if it gets you more awareness and support, then 'click' away I will.
