
Though as an aside, as a half-Scottish child (the worst kind of child) I was given multiple Oor Wullie and The Broons annuals as a kid. I read them voraciously but for the life of me I can't recall ever enjoying them or laughing at anything they said. It's almost as if they were a coping mechanism for having Scottish grandparents rather than a source of enjoyment.
