I've never got this argument about no sound in space for sci-fi movies, Star Trek etc.
The items are producing sound, they just don't carry in a vacuum.
You then have to realise... you the viewer are not sitting in space. There is no camera there for you to hear from.
Why people would argue that they can't hear sound from somewhere they're not actually situated is... odd...
