People are trying to solve thisCarbon Capture and Storage (CCS) has been around for a while, but it costs more than renewable energy. Personally I think we should be investing heavily in fusion and building more nuclear. They are the only way to have reliable and cheap power for the future. Wind and solar needs energy storage and there is no practical solution for that right now (we would have to sequester all battery production for years just to do the UK for example) The world isn't doomed and there are solutions, it's just that some people refuse to countenance anything nuclear because it isn't 'natural', as if the sun wasn't natural.
