When I got a new TV in 2014,one of the first things I gawped at in disbelief upon seeing it in high definition for the first time was the thing on top of Andrew Neil's head.
I had a similar experience when watching Beneath the Planet of the Apes on blu-ray, and Charlton Heston's wig was less convincing than the ape make-up by an order of magnitude.
