Everyone hates Timothy Chalamet because he said that Opera and Ballet are less relevant with the contemporary public than they used to be.So there's a rumour going around that he lost the Best Actor Oscar to Michael B. Jordan in retribution for his comments (and also because somebody called Jordan a Nigger at the BAFTAs). There's also talk that Chalamet was losing favour with the public prior to those comments too, mostly due to people being sick of him popping up everywhere, but I don't really subscribe to that because Michael B. Jordan has been regarded as a tiresome cunt for far longer than Chalamet has.
Considering that the modern Oscars are about as indicative of the quality of filmmaking as Eurovision is about the quality of musicality, it's probably not far off the truth. Especially since Chalamet's performance in Marty Supreme absolutely shat all over Jordan's performance in Sinners (not that Jordan's performance was by any means bad, just not extraordinary).
