# do they need any software engineers?

# don't think so
if you've done anything with Symbian OS, you might havce a chance

# No
not done anything with Symbian OS. Is there a free SDK available so I can teach myself?

Edit: Google to the rescue.. yes there is :)

# possibly, try

Note - we don't actually have a current vacancy, and you'd probably need quite a bit of proper experience.
In fact, if you had experience, you may be better off applying to Symbian themselves.

# nahh thats cool
it looks like a good platform to learn, though. Good for the CV and all that. And if anyone out there is looking for a software engineer... PICK ME! PICK ME! ;)

# no worries
good Symbian OS developers are still fairly thin on the ground

You have offically passed the required number of programming languages to be classed as an untouchable freak.

well done! :)
