I made cookies once......and the recipe called for 'cloves.' I didn't know they were supposed to be ground cloves, and assumed that these sharp little devils would dissolve or something. Anyway, I brought them to a bake sale, and had to throw them out because people were complaining that they had 'pieces of wood' in them.
