He told me that once he had a temp job slaughtering rabbits for a guy that raised them. They method they used was to hold them in one hand then with the other hit them in the back of the head with a club. When done correctly, instant death. If the blow isn't quite right, though, the rabbit emits horrible cries. He said it was the worst sound he ever heard.
