but a swiss army knifeis more than just a knife, it's a knife stuffed with other things, which makes it a gadget. i'd say that one could stretch the term gadget to include a building similarly stuffed with gadgets, particularly if the are working in harmony to significantly alter the structure and functionality of the building.
The fact that it couldn't conceivably be used would make it a useless James Bond gadget, but i see what you mean
