I've just rememberedmy roommate at the time was pretty awful, too.
She was a large, loud, and intimidating Hispanic girl who I was convinced would devour me while I slept.
She used to talk to her friends and family on the phone, in Spanish, telling them what a horrible roommate I was, and how boring, white, stupid, etc, I was. Thing is, I speak Spanish...
She listened to nothing but angry Spanish and American rap music, and ABBA. EXCULSIVELY. 'Dancing Queen' still makes me wince. She would put on headphones if I asked politely, but then she'd hum to the music anyway, and I was too scared to bring it up.
Also used to watch nothing but MTV and Spanish television, usually until all odd hours of the morning when I was trying to sleep. Remember, the room is a plain square, so there was no escaping the TV.
Nothing too awful...just a bad match on the part of the housing dept.
