I've noticed it toobut only on my crappy slow home PC. I think it's because the background gif isn't very tall so it has to draw it more often to fill the page. I had this problem once on a page I did. As soon as I made the gif a bit taller everything got drawn much, much quicker.
But is it worth the little bit of extra bandwidth?
