welli just installed mandrake 9 on a seperate partition to my windows xp last week - and its very nice and sets up a boot manager automatically if it finds a windows system anywhere. youre better off making a 5 or so gig partition for it, so if things go wrong you dont lose all your data (and where linux is involved its easy for things to go wrong!)
saying that i've only booted the linux install twice - it can't handle multiple monitors at all, bit pants hardware wise really..
