unsintallnimo codecs.. then reboot (plus mediaplayer 9 is a bag of wank)
Reuinstall and do a custion - don't install these:
m400 codec (or any matrox one unless u have a matrox vid card)
morgan stream switcher
any mp3 codecs
and anthing else in the help that you don't think you need.
Right - now it'll work, but is still shit.
So - use mediaplayer 6.4 which is this: program files\windows media player\mplayer2.exe
will now play anything you get and perfectly well (unlike mediaplayer 7/8/9..)

Or getbsplayer which is much more fun than MediaPlayer. Less bloaty, lots more options, supports SRT subtitles, blah blah blah. www.divx-digest.com should have it.
