/edit again, now with added helpfulness:
a) Well done for GIFfiness, but turn dither off next time - it'll reduce the filesize.
b) Non-moving pictures need to be a maximum of 50k big (animated ones can be up to 250k)
c) Any picture that big is going to annoy people - as a rough guide I'd say you're looking for a 500x700 maximum, but if you can get it smaller then that's definately a good thing.
