I thought that was too strong an epithet for the
emo ethic, so we went for 'frickin' as it was, like, so different and totally unexpected. You just don't understand me.

Incidentally, quite a few people didn't understand what 'emo' was when we wore those shirts. Thus, owing to how close the apostophe is to the next word on my shirt (on the right, there), people thought we were 'frickin' Nemo'.
