Surely some people are wrong. As an outsider I think I can definately say some beliefs reflect more of reality than others.
The problem is the group. Once you identify yourself as part of a group there's always conflict. You're also always trying to pull the people you like into your group so you can be more comfortable with them.

it's if there were no "jews" and no "muslims", if we all weren't insulating ourselves into our safe little groups, there could be no conflict. You can't have conflict with out two different parties. If we were all just human beings, we wouldn't kill each other, because we'd be killing ourselves.
