# 1) bollocks that an SM
2) if you want to be a pedant you think the vox for the M People was done with anything else than a Valve mic (if memory serves correct I think they used studio A at Abbey road so the chances are they used one of their Neuman U32s).
3) What use is 40k on a female vox?
4) I don't think I've worked in a profession studio that used either SMs or PGs as a vox mic and I'd say most people use the PG range as drum mics.

On a lighter note: Anyone going to be down the Wytchwood festival this weekend as I'm down there doing guitar tech and FOH.

i think you need to read my post again i was being a pedant to yours about using 57's on female vox, i was describing the differences between them.

also steve albini used sm58s on quite a few records for vocals, including the work he did with the pixies, i'm not really familiar with the u32 though, got a link? ;)

Beyer M201 is the hotness for female vox if it must be a dynamic.

U32 is a diesel/electric microphone, capable of staying submerged for several weeks.
