# glad you did that
otherwise I'd have had to do it myself, and nobody likes to bum their own burns.

As you say this to me on a regular basis.

# Alarmingly
I just read your sig EXACTLY as Tom Waits started that song on my notanipodplayer.

I am mildly spooked, but approve of your choice of words (and we all know everyone craves my approval)

# Tom Waits
is my personal choice of "if you could only have one musician/group's work".

Varied and 100% of ace.

For some reason the way my brain is wired makes everything he's ever done awesome in at least one way and I bang on about him a lot to people who don't care.

# That's alright.
I do that about John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters sometimes and get told to be quiet. Hmph.

So then I tell everyone about Emmy Lou Harris. HAHA. HAVEN'T HEARD OF HER, HAVE YOU, FUCKO?

Not you.

# It's all about the voices...
Waits, Hooker and Waters all have/had great voices and sounded like real men. Why do male vocalists all feel the need to whine like Jeff Buckley these days?

By a doubly eerie coincidence I spotted the "Tom Waits 4 Numan" post just as 'Closing Time' came to an end on my player. Is it something about Friday afternoons that demands Tom Waits?
