He wasn't very funny though, he just intentionally refused to get jokes or go along with the stuff generally in a way which was meant to be funny but wasn't.

That was one of the only shows (including Alexei Sayle's 'Stuff') that would send me into fits of breathless, choking, tears-in-eyes laughter

But generally there are a few scattered comments or lines in the really good shows which will make me burst out laughing.
Plus the first time I saw Stewart Lee's Scotch routine I nearly pissed myself from the sheer bravery of it. Glasweigens rarely laugh at being called gay paedophiles.
