slash-and-burn destruction of natural habitats and rainforest in order to grow bio-fuels... not so much.
Don't blame the concept, blame the idiots who implemented it. Like these silly 'eco towns' the government is planning. as an idea, an ecologically aware and carefully considered and built development could help provide a lot of useful housing whilst minimising the impact on the evironment and encouraging aspects of conservation. Unfortunately, the implementation appears to be 'Stick it on that nature reserve and don't forget to stick the prefix 'eco-' on everything using glue made from Osprey eggs.'
