I think religion should be taught in schoolsas for most kids it's the one informed insight into other religions that they get. To deprive them of that education is pretty much (in my opinion) like giving them a BNP membership at birth.

That's not strictly true.I would say racists inherit their attitudes from their parents and other influential people in their lives. If the parents are racist it's more likely the kids are going to be racist anyway regardless of whether they're taught about other religions in schools.

Let's put it another wayReligious education isn't a recruiting ground, it seeks to explain other religions to children in an easily digested format (well, mine was) - why are you so against it? Don't you want children to be informed?
