SofC has more lonely atmosphere, both have superb graphics directly from photos of Chernobyl area. CS has UNSCRIPTED combat AI and faction wars. Worth a look (but patch them before playing).

I think I took a look at Stalkera while back. Sadly too many games are coded for the market ( console ) thse days as opposed to being coded for the fan. Of course you can't make the best game ever for PC and then port it to box unless the box gets a keyboard but it's a shame for the developers that original content is discarded for commercial functionality.
I think Stalker was like that. Also I'm really not a FPS fan. and quite honestly F3 might lose me soon, I'm just a fan of the old games and think this looks beautiful on a dual GPU high end card but at the end of the day it looks like it will become a shoot-em-up with rpg character building stats. That will bore me eventually.

Yep 'tisbasically a fps with clever AI and some rpg elements, I liked the realism though. Not easy though, weapons are realistically inaccurate/jam/wear etc. and terrain is nice.
