No, that happens if you mash fire before it's finished reloading.Generally true of any game with a shotgun in, because they take so long to reload and are loaded with individual cartridges means you can still fire the shots you've loaded if you're in a desperate situation.
The auto shottie reloads a lot lot faster bizaarely, though I avoid both and go for full auto.

Ah right :)I don't like shot gun, is ok for what it is meant for like room clearance. I still like it when they gather around the pipe bomb :)

The shotgun is much better than the assault rifle at taking out specials.Generally if a witch or a hunter comes at you you're pretty fucked with the assault rifle, a shotgun can take either out in one shot if you're good though. Still don't like them though, have to reload too often for my liking.
