I used one for a while but it was over 10 years ago.You need to be obsessive about cleaning it.They clog up very easily.You can set up an inner tube and keep it inflated with a footpump instead of a noisy compressor,but cleanliness is an issue..shit inside the tube/footpump can block the jets.I was going to give you the title of an excellent hardback encyclopedia on airbrushes,but you've just reminded me I lent it to someone a long time ago.Damn.
They're tricky to use at first..just practice as much as you can.don't be precious about your art at first.You're going to fuck up a lot.
Get the best quality you can afford.I'd buy quality second hand rather than a brand new inferior brand.They were one of those things a lot of arty people bought,but found they didn't get on with.you can't just leave it lying about like a paint pallet while you go for a fag in the common room.Cleaning can mean manipulating a fiddly little 3d puzzle,a clumsy oaf can damage the innards.
