That fur is going to be hell to animate; I'd remove the texture.Unless it's going to work like Stan's coat? Did you use the smudge tool to get the outlines? Don't do that - that's like the texture equivalent of using lens flare.
I can't really tell it's a ferret, to be honest. Ferrets have shorter noses - his face is shaped like a badger's, and the pose makes me think of a squirrel. A ferret is like a furry snake, almost.
