If the ad had been pulled because there had been a complaint from Hu Jintao or China's foreign minister this might have made a small degree of sense, but the only people mentioned in the article as being unhappy with it are "Chinese chatroom users". That's right, Zhang_Wei_89, Guangzhou_h0tt1e and their ASLing friends made this happen.
