Considering we're all going to die at some point or another anyway, it's actually quite good news. We'll give the rest of the Earth a long overdue opportunity to live in peace again.

Edit: climate change probably won't wipe out Homo sapiens, a species who survived an ice age in much smaller numbers than today - unless conditions on the planet become hostile to most complex life.

As a society we've become too comfortable, too reliant on technology to know how the fuck to function without it. If you randomly picked 100 British people out of a crowd, how many do you think would survive a month in Arctic conditions without any outside aid?
