it's hardly "one of the most appalling cases" of neglect, as the judge surmised
it was dead already. it's not like it can be killed twice. just because the mum's gone mental after a stillbirth and formed some strange attachment to the dead foetus, doesn't mean everbody else has to play along. It was either going to go in dirt hole or be barbecued anyway, she wasn't going to keep it on the mantlepiece for it to rot
