I last saw them play in an abandoned Philly warehouse in '84.
Their industrial emo angst echoed off the rust-belt factory walls peppering the crowd with peeling lead paint flakes. Some of the crowd intransigently caught the poison on their tongues like snowflakes.
They played all covers but the heavy low-tuned guitar grind and throbbing drums were an unironic soundtrack to my problems... like being trapped in a hot car slowly filling with carbon monoxide.
I've never seen Alvin look so bad and wish I would've said something but we were all in a downward spiral of debauchery. Dave just fed them drugs to use them up, that piece of shit.
I somehow got clean after Chicago when Simon collapsed on stage and went into a coma for several years. It's probably better that it ended them before they ended me.
It's hard to listen to them now as it's a trigger for my depression and addiction which still calls to me like a cold damp blanket that covers my broken heart.
I heard that Werner Herzog is planning to do a biopic on them which I think could help me put the whole thing into perspective better.
9/10: Would desecrate my soul with their music again.
