The one that i saw was a forrest cockchafer i think.
They can fly too. Clumsy ones at that.

my cat used to catch these
On summertime evenings, he used to sit on the lawn and leap about five feet in the air to grab flying ones.

One of them flew into my face on the evening.
The other one (Maybe the same filthy swine) was flying around in the room that i was staying in at my friends house in Chesire.
I couldn't capture it. so i couldn't put it outside.
I was tired and had too many drinks. I had to put up with the noisy buzzing and bumping sounds when it crashed into the walls and high ceiling.
