That does ring bells. Or I might be mixing them up with the equally smelly Scampi Fries. Guess the idea there was if you sank 10 pints down the pub but finished with some scampi fries, the Mrs would think you’d been out eating crisps/ scampi instead.

Maybe the wife wouldn't want to get intimate with scampi and booze breath.
When i was a kid, i wouldn't want anyone using my joystick or touching my keyboard if they had been eating crisps. I would ask them to wash their hands.
