
that it isn't the words used but the way they're said. I'd take much less offence at someone I know calling me a useless motherfucking bastard-cunty-prick than a stranger calling me an idiot. But maybe that's just me.
Just to clarify, I've never been the victim of racial abuse (which is undoubtedly hurtful in the right (wrong?) hands), but I have had strangers take the piss out of my size and choice of facial hair (I'm a scrawny runt with a silly beard. Get over it), and I've inwardly wished evil upon them.
If someone means to hurt you it doesn't matter what words they use...
